Signet Classics Essay Contest
Signet Classics is hosting their 22nd Annual Student Scholarship Essay Contest, in which five high school juniors or seniors can each win a $1,000 scholarship award to be used toward their higher education plus a Signet Classics library for their school. Essays must be submitted by a high school English teacher on behalf of students who write an essay on one of five topics for this year’s competition book, Incidents in the Life of a Slave Girl by Harriett Jacobs. Essay topics are posted on penguin.com/scessay. Deadline for submission is April 14, 2018.
REYNOLDS YOUNG WRITERS WORKSHOP
Denison University's 2018 Reynolds Young Writers Workshop is a week-long summer creative writing program for sophomores and juniors. The program dates are June 17-024, 2018. Applications will be accepted from January 3 through March 4, 2018. Please visit reynolds.denison.edu for more information.
university of dallas high school summer programs
The University of Dallas is offering summer programs for high school students on both its Rome, italy and Irving Texas campuses. Of special interest to students who enjoy English literature is their 'Shakespeare in Italy' course which runs from July 9th through the 31st. The deadline for application is January 16, 2018. Nassau community college monologue competition
The Nassau Community College Honors Program is sponsoring a Monologue Competition to be held on March 24, 2018 at the NCC campus' theater. Each candidate will present a monologue of no more than two minutes on the theme "Education... Liberation..." For more information, please see your English teacher.
Sewanee young Writers' Conference
The University of the South is hosting a writing workshop program on its Sewanee, Tennessee campus on July 1st through the 14th for rising sophomores, juniors, and seniors. Admission decisions are made on a rolling basis until workshops are full, however, it is recommended that you submit your application before February 23, 2018.
